QUISISANA ROYAL PALACE
Built in the 13th century by the Angevin sovereigns as a place of vacation and healing, it was only with the interventions carried out by Charles III of Bourbon between 1765 and 1790 that the splendid structure assumed its current appearance.
The complex, which reflected the idea of a “hunting and holiday palace,” has an “L” structure, so as to enjoy an extraordinary view of the Gulf of Naples on one side and be perfectly connected to the city of Castellammare on the other. To reach the Royal Palace of Quisisana, you walk along a vast wooded area with a picnic zone and Bourbon fountains, and upon request, guided tours can also be organized to the highest area of the woods with guided tastings of selected wines produced with the grapes of the vineyards of Castellammare di Stabia.
